Traffic Issues

THE FOSTER CITY Multi-Project Traffic Analysis  shows that:  

1)      Foster City freeways, ramps and major intersections are ALREADY AT CAPACITY, (and beyond).
      Report page 41, Table 8;  page 18, Table ES-8. 

2)      NO IMPROVEMENTS are planned to correct overcrowded freeways at East 3rd. Ave., Edgewater Blvd., or Highway 
      101
/ 92 interchange.

3)      City has 18 redevelopment projects in review, (add Costco, Charter Square) - Report page 24, Table 1. 
      Pilgrim / Triton alone will increase area traffic by 250%.  Report page A-15, Table A-8.                                                                                                

4)      Projects require 12 traffic improvements - freeway ramps, turn lanes, and signal lights. Report Figure ES-1.
     
But, WHO PAYS? Transit agencies don’t have budget or land – for years.  .                                                

5)      Traffic overall increases by 50%, (Traffic Fact Sheet), up to 160% in areas. Report page 6, Table ES-2 – add the numbers. 
      How will employees and customers get to your location?

6)        San Mateo county requires cities to pay on $340 million in bonds for a new water sewage system, (Belmont paying $45 million).  

7)      Children in new developments will be BUSSED OUT OF TOWN for public school while we still pay on bonds for new    
      schools
.  Measure L, $175 million. How will we drive our children?

MUST respond to TRAFFIC study by OCT 10th  In writing, for the public record, (get date stamp at city hall), to SET LIMITS on growth, traffic, density, size, height and population FIRST!
